CMAS State Assessments for 12th Grade

Dear Parents and Guardians of 12th grade students:
I want to remind you about an important upcoming assessment called CMAS (Colorado Measures of Academic Assessment). This assessment will be given to all 12th grade students in November. The CMAS assessment measures student knowledge in science and social studies. The test format for each discipline has 3 separate sections.
These assessments will be conducted during different single block periods (only one per day) on each of the following days: November 3, 4, 6, 11, 12, and 13. This schedule will allow for the most limited interruption. Apart from the single block test period on each of these days, the school day will continue as normal and students will attend their other regularly scheduled classes. 12th grade students will be excused from CDC classes during testing periods. Grades 9-11 will have classes as regularly scheduled.
Thanks in advance for your support throughout the CMAS testing period. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Erick Finnestead

College and Career Center

Silver Creek is opening our College and Career Center. The purpose and intent of the center is to expose students and families to the following: college admissions processes, college admissions essay writing, scholarship opportunities, career choices and transitioning into higher education. This space will also offer increased opportunities for college admissions representatives to meet with our students.

Here's how you can help! We look to have presenters from their career field every Friday. This presentation will be to a group of no more than 20 students. Presentations will cover topics such as: education, career track, challenges, successes and what you see for the future of your field. Please feel free to contact Erick Finnestead or Carrie Adams or you can sign up HERE and we will contact you. Presentations will be Fridays beginning at 10:30 and 12:00. Afterwards, we would like to introduce you to our Leadership Academy classes and present the same information. You can also donate through our Education Foundation to provide specific programming in resume writing, job search, career track, and essay writing by clicking HERE and navigating to the DONATE button.
